The New Blog

So, there is a new place to go for the latest news about Shaun and me, because I didn't want to be blogging about the two of us on a blog called "The Lanette Gazette." Shaun is even a co-author. The URL is: http://www.shaunandlanette.blogspot.com.

As we are finishing up the term, I think we're both getting anxious about finals and grades and the WEDDING! It's coming so soon, and it's amazing and scary to think that. I have so much to do still! Oh well. I have appreciated all the advice thus far.

By the way, I won't be deleting this blog, but we will be making the new one the main one now. You are all wonderful. I love y'all so much!

The Capeners

On Friday Shaun and I went to our friends Scott and Rachel Capener's wedding. We went to their sealing in Salt Lake and their reception, and it was amazing! I'd never been to a sealing before. It was so neat, and the Salt Lake Temple was so beautiful. That's where Shaun and I had our first kiss--in front of the temple--so it's been one of my favorites for a while. It's crazy to think Scott and Rachel are married now! After Shaun and I had been dating about a month we went on a double with them, and we got engaged probably a month or a month and a half after them...and we're getting married pretty soon after them too. AUGH!!!!

I am posting pictures from the Capener's reception--one of Scott and Rachel, one of Shaun and me, and one of Shaun with 3 of his mission companions (Elio, Scott, Kelly)--they were in a foursome together on the mission in Texas, and they are such good guys and have such amazing friendships.

Off-topic news: I got my wedding dress yesterday!

It's been a happy weekend, but it's also been a weekend where a lot of reality has checked in. I'm getting married in 19 days! It is so crazy to think that, and so stressful, nerve-wracking, exciting, etc...

Our New Hood!

We got a basement to rent! It's within walking distance to BYU, and it is dirt cheap. We're going to save so much money living there! It's $400/month plus electric and garbage. The landlord is way chill and will let us leave whenever we want--no contract. I wish I had pictures, but I've drawn a paint sketch for your enjoyment.

You walk around the back of this house and get to a small staircase and go down to the front door, which opens into the kitchen. To the left as you walk in is a door to a utilities room, with a washer and dryer we share with the upstairs tenants. There is also space we can store stuff in, shared with upstairs.

The kitchen has yucky orange laminate on the floor and nice, new granite counter tops in a horrible orange-brown pattern. The cupboards are white, and the fridge is new and nice. Next to the sink is the bathroom. Why is the bathroom next to the sink? Well, there is no sink in the bathroom. So the bathroom has this shower with a massive hole for the drain, a toilet....and the sink is in the kitchen.

From the kitchen you go into the BIG living room with hardwood flooring a big old dusty blue area rug, and from there you go to a big bedroom with a big closet and mustard yellow carpet.

We can start moving stuff in August 1st! I am so excited!!! I know it's a little on the very ghetto side, but it's our first place, and we're college kids, so I think it'll be wonderful.
