The Capeners

On Friday Shaun and I went to our friends Scott and Rachel Capener's wedding. We went to their sealing in Salt Lake and their reception, and it was amazing! I'd never been to a sealing before. It was so neat, and the Salt Lake Temple was so beautiful. That's where Shaun and I had our first kiss--in front of the temple--so it's been one of my favorites for a while. It's crazy to think Scott and Rachel are married now! After Shaun and I had been dating about a month we went on a double with them, and we got engaged probably a month or a month and a half after them...and we're getting married pretty soon after them too. AUGH!!!!

I am posting pictures from the Capener's reception--one of Scott and Rachel, one of Shaun and me, and one of Shaun with 3 of his mission companions (Elio, Scott, Kelly)--they were in a foursome together on the mission in Texas, and they are such good guys and have such amazing friendships.

Off-topic news: I got my wedding dress yesterday!

It's been a happy weekend, but it's also been a weekend where a lot of reality has checked in. I'm getting married in 19 days! It is so crazy to think that, and so stressful, nerve-wracking, exciting, etc...

Our New Hood!

We got a basement to rent! It's within walking distance to BYU, and it is dirt cheap. We're going to save so much money living there! It's $400/month plus electric and garbage. The landlord is way chill and will let us leave whenever we want--no contract. I wish I had pictures, but I've drawn a paint sketch for your enjoyment.

You walk around the back of this house and get to a small staircase and go down to the front door, which opens into the kitchen. To the left as you walk in is a door to a utilities room, with a washer and dryer we share with the upstairs tenants. There is also space we can store stuff in, shared with upstairs.

The kitchen has yucky orange laminate on the floor and nice, new granite counter tops in a horrible orange-brown pattern. The cupboards are white, and the fridge is new and nice. Next to the sink is the bathroom. Why is the bathroom next to the sink? Well, there is no sink in the bathroom. So the bathroom has this shower with a massive hole for the drain, a toilet....and the sink is in the kitchen.

From the kitchen you go into the BIG living room with hardwood flooring a big old dusty blue area rug, and from there you go to a big bedroom with a big closet and mustard yellow carpet.

We can start moving stuff in August 1st! I am so excited!!! I know it's a little on the very ghetto side, but it's our first place, and we're college kids, so I think it'll be wonderful.

Some Engagement Pictures

My cousin Scott took all of our Engagement pics. He's just an ordinary college kid who likes cameras, and we think he did a stellar job. These are a couple that we liked.

35 days...

So I just took a killer test for my Quantitative Research Statistics class. I didn't want to look at my score because I have a Media Law test tomorrow and I didn't want to be depressed in case it isn't what I would like. I am feeling really silly for taking classes this summer now, but I'll make it. I don't think I am as focused as I should be, but I'm only taking two classes...they're kinda tough, but maybe that's just because my mind is usually elsewhere these days...like with wedding reception plans and buying furniture off of craigslist. Shaun and I went and bought a complete bedroom set today for 300 dollars. That was right before my test. No wonder I couldn't focus. We don't even know where we are living yet. I don't know where we will put a bed and a bunch of dressers and stuff for 35 days...Anyway, life is good! I'm pretty impressed with this my fiance's craigslist buying skills....Hopefully I can be impressed with my Quantitative Research Statistics and Media Law skills too. :)
